In this story which reads a lot like Johanna's Lindsey's early books, neither hero or heroine wishes to marry the other because of an experience that happened between them when they were young. A plot is made against the match by a Lord who wants to see Wulfric wed to his daughter. He feels that he was denied his fair share of power, etc., when he did not marry Wulfric's mother "Anne". The story was good if a little slow at first and not as well developed as Lindsey's Mallory series. |
