The story revolves around a rake who feels he's unredeemable and a do-gooder/manhater, who wishes to save all womenkind from the evils of man. The best scene in the book is when Gabriel attempts to procure a lock of virgin's hair at the local nunnery. Although the scenes at the beginning showed great promise and lots of humor the story soon went flat and unmemorable. The story picked up just as it ended but became a little too sappy emotionally.
